Why do we still need gender roles?

Our world is getting more complicated, more modern, more developed. But still there are some things, that will be always actual only for men or only for women. Gender roles are one of these things.
Firstly, it’s necessary to define, what are gender roles and what their equality means? Gender roles are one of human’s social roles, sort of settings for our behavior, that depends on gender. And gender equality means equal opportunities, the rights and duties for women and men in all spheres of life, including access to education and to health care and equal opportunities to work. In fact, our opportunities are limited only with biological factors, for instance, tall women can’t become a flight-attendant, the same thing is with men.
There will always be professions, that are more popular among women (teacher, nurse, nanny) and among men (lawyer, engineer, surgeon). Despite  popularity of engeneering among men, women can become an engineer, if she really wants it, she can even become better than any other man. It doesn’t depend on gender, only on our possibility to do something good or bad.
But I’ve said only about quite usual professions. There are professions, where you won’t meat women, for example have you ever seen women that works as miner or oil industry worker. It is situation when we can clearly see, how important gender roles are, because not every women could stand moral and physical pressure, that those workers can.
Gender roles are important not only in different professions. What about children’s birth? What about army? There are some duties and possibilities only for men or women, and it makes our life even easier, because generally, we know what we can do.
We can’t be the same, to do the same thing. There always will be differences between women and men, but we should respect each other’s choice and personality and give each other support and love.
